Tetragonal zirconia, due to noticeable physical and chemical properties, has various applications. In this research, the powder synthesis by sol gel process and the role of acetyl acetone as a controlling of hydrolysis reaction was evaluated. The produced powder was analyzed by techniques of TEM, XRD, STA and FTIR. The results show that acetyl acetone has reduced the final size of nanopowder.
